Group Analyst and Individual Psychodynamic Psychotherapist

UKCP

There are times in life when we find ourselves struggling in ways that are difficult to understand. You may be feeling anxious, low, overwhelmed, disconnected from other people, or caught in patterns that seem to repeat despite your efforts to change them. Sometimes there is a clear reason for these difficulties; at other times there is simply a sense that life has become harder to navigate.

Psychotherapy offers a space to think about these experiences more deeply. Rather than focusing only on symptoms or solutions, psychodynamic psychotherapy is interested in understanding how your difficulties have developed, what they may mean, and how they relate to your history, relationships, and sense of yourself.

Many of the ways we relate to ourselves and others are shaped by experiences that lie outside our immediate awareness. We may find ourselves repeatedly entering the same kinds of relationships, struggling with similar feelings, or responding to situations in ways that feel familiar but unhelpful. Therapy provides an opportunity to become curious about these patterns rather than simply battling against them.

I offer individual and group psychotherapy, in person, in Brighton & Hove. My approach is informed by psychodynamic and group analytic thinking, with an interest in how our relationships, both past and present, shape our emotional lives.

Beginning therapy can feel like a significant step. If you are considering psychotherapy and would like to discuss what you are looking for, I welcome you to get in touch.

Why Seagull Psychotherapy? ...

Seagulls represent home for me. They evoke a sense of, familiarity, resilience, and the possibility of finding your bearings even in difficult conditions.

I aim to offer a therapeutic space with those qualities: somewhere you can feel safe enough to explore difficult experiences, think about them openly, and develop a fuller understanding of yourself.
